Apparently this is called content scraping? Is that right? I read that it is illegal, a way of snaffling original content from a legitimate website and posting the stolen content to another site without the knowledge or permission of the content’s owner.
I’m not sure what whoever has done this will get from it, but it can only harm me by making me look like a total flipping tool. Oh, hang on, that is more than a teeny bit of a concern. Embarrassing or what???
But who has done this? A person or a ‘thing’? Was it a poorly educated non-native English speaker in a grim booth somewhere? Or a bit of synonymising software?
So, having confidently asserted in my first ever blog post (So, what is a blog then?) that I don’t care about spelling and grammar, it turns out that I really do care a little bit about that stuff after all. So what’s the lesson here? I’ll let you know when I’ve worked it out. Probably something about wanting one’s true voice heard …
Kez (humbled, embarrassed and a little bit wiser for it) xx
