A little on decluttering
Hello again!
I spoke last time about Life Reviews and how a Life Review led me to move house! Not all changes need to be as radical but whatever happens it refreshes your life.
After doing my own Life Review, mid- pandemic, I needed a Life Laundry, a massive declutter, ridding myself of decades of possessions and sentimental paraphernalia. Some decisions were easy but some more complex, so I asked myself: ‘How does this help me?’ And when I drew a blank: Off it went. Tips and charity shops weren’t open but as soon as the restrictions were lifted, I joined the steady stream of de-clutterers heading for the recycling site.
Next on the Agenda: Mental Decluttering. I have several professions. I decided not to do some lines of work anymore, even when normal working resumed. We feel trapped into a profession because of the investment in training but that’s history! That’s for Legacy Writing not for living today. If you can use any knowledge to work in a different way, do it. Open the trap!
I gave my cello to a charity which helped young musicians who couldn’t afford a good instrument. I wasn’t playing the cello and felt guilty every time I saw it. I felt sick when I put it in my car to give away and drove home later feeling relieved and lightened.
Is it time to Refresh Your Life?
